Any boolit casters here...???

Post by Rugerfanboy » Sun Nov 20, 2016 1:12 pm

Looking to see if any boolit casters here have used this company before or have any experience with them. Right now....I have several Lee Precision molds....which I plan to continue to use cause there for black powder pistols. Plus a few others that I will use from time to time. Looking to expand my operation and buy a few new higher production molds and a custom mold. But Lee Precision wants $175 for there setup fee's for a custom mold and I still have to pay the cost for the new mold.

That company does not ring a bell to me. Sorry.

I do not 'cast' bullets or reload but my husband does 'cast' and reload. He has reloaded for over 40 years now.

Maybe someone can chime in here if they have used that company that you posted above.

Thank you Catherine.

Considering Arsenal Molds prices in relation to Lee Precision's prices....I don't think I have a choice. Just looking for feedback right now for experience and if anyone has any experience with Arsenal Molds on the quality control side.

Arsenal Molds (custom)
$0 (tooling set-up) + $80 (custom mold) + $14 (mold handle) + $8 (S&H) = $102 :P

Lee Precision Mold (custom)
$175 (tooling set-up) + $53 (custom mold) + $18 (mold handle) + $15 (S&H) = $261 :o

Lee has plenty of standard molds for just about any caliber you want. Their molds can't be beat for the price. Midway carries most of Lee's products. I have about a dozen of Lee molds and have no complaints.

Same here, just that my needs/wants have changed.

Lee doesn't make anything even close to these two molds (Keith Type Bullets). Plus....I'm looking for a particular way the spruce plate cuts. And both molds from Arsenal will be setup like I want them to be. The way I like is how Lee Precision two cavity molds are set up for cutting the spruce. I hate the way there 6 cavity molds are setup for cutting the spruce. This is one reason why I will not own a Lee Precision 6 cavity mold. Weird....I know....but that's what I want/need. I'll provide a youtube video that a youtube user is using a Arsenal Mold and the way he has his mold setup....which is the way I want to do mine. At 1:18 in the video, you'll see how the mold is setup and how the spruce plate is made. Plus....the Arsenal Mold block's are allot thicker than the Lee Precision mold blocks.
