Some additions, and adjustments to my reloading space.

Post by DsGrouse » Wed Jun 11, 2025 4:29 pm

I've been picking up spare presses these last few months. RCIIs, RCIVs, Rebels, Ammomasters, WH2's and another T8. I need to organize it all. SO....

Here we go, a thread to introduce you all to my little world of used presses.

First up, an RCBS summit, a survivor of water damage.

After shots, there is still some pitting, but everything is smooth and greased.

Reassembled.... It's a good-looking press. I think I'd prefer the short handle over this mid-length one.

That's one good looking press, and you got it looking like new. I've never used one, but have heard it's similar to the Forester Co-Ax press, and it's very well thought of.
Looks like that reloading space is going to grow.

These were a special, limited-run paint scheme in 2013. This is 1623 of 2013 made. Not that it means much, but it'd been passed over on an auction site because of the water damage. It got here, and I hope to put it to good use. I do want the shorter handle for it. I'm working on cleaning my reloading area and finishing up a mount for my RCBS Power Trim Pro 2.

I've got a bit of organizing of my press hangers to do, then I'll get a decent picture of the presses, the stands and their mounts. I'm rapidly running out of space...

The floor is a mess in this photo. I've since cleaned it up.

These are my various presses on the in-line fabrication mounts. I use all of them for some purpose or another.
Bottom row, left to right:
C&H tool and die Swage o matic
Lee challenger press (use it when trimming)
RCBS Ammo Master
RCBS RCII, I use when swaging with BSS dies

Second row, left to right
Lyman 4500 lubra sizer
RCBS Bench Priming system
Corbins Cannelure tool and Herters Core cutting fixture
RCBS RCIV (Use it when sizing and decapping rifle calibers)

Middle row, left to right.
Lee APP deluxe post 2023
My second Lyman T8 (going to swap my pistol dies over to a second press. I've 10 heads.)
RCBS Power trim pro 2

I spoke with Dan from In-Line Fabrication about a quick-mount plate for the Power Trim Pro 2. He said buy a blank mount, mount the PTP2 to a bit of 3/4" and then mount the wood to the blank plate. The process is as follows.

The presses I use on a daily basis.

RCBS Rebel, my primary swaging press for C&H Tool and Die .357 and .452 bullets.

My Lyman All-American T8 is my primary reloading press.

My first Walnut Hill 2 press, where I do most of my core seat and swage work.
Image

My second Walnut Hill 2 press, where I do most of my point forming during my swage work. I've a third Quick mount plate for a third WH2 press.
Image

My newest press, the RCBS Summit, I saved from flood damage.

My vise that I use for all-around gun tinkering and cleaning.

I'm trying. It's a slow haul. I'd love to find some CH tool and Die and .355, 44mag swaging dies.

You sure are kitted out with all that! I like that you have specific applications for each too.
Back in the 1990s, when I first started to venture into the rifle cartridge loading world, my loading bench was already occupied by a Ponsness Warren 375, and two Dillon Square Deal B presses. Very little room was left for anything else. I got the RCBS kit with the RCII press, and plenty of extras, but I had no place to put it. My brother-in-law, who was a carpenter, made me a nicely finished 8" x 10" piece of multi layer cabinet type plywood, about an inch thick, and suggested that I mount the press on that, then I could just C-clamp it to an open area of the bench while I wanted to use it. It could then be removed to allow space to load with those other presses when not in use. My RCII still sits on that piece of plywood to this day, and I still move it around occasionally. Kind of an early version of the In Line Fab stuff.
You could probably open a reloading museum or exhibition display with all that equipment, I'll bet you could load just about anything.
