Montana Bullet Works
I bought my .44 Mag Henry BBB 10 years ago. For the first 2 years I reloaded with 240 gr. jacketed HP bullets. Accuracy results at 75-100 yds. were not acceptable. Someone told me to switch to hard cast lead bullets. I called Henry's HQ, and a technician told me to use 250 gr RN lead bullets. I called Beartooth Bullets and spoke with Marshall Stanton who recommended his 250 gr. gas checked bullets. Results with them were superb, 3" groups at 75 yds. with a Skinner peep sight. Time from order to shipment was 3-4 months, so in 2021 I placed an order for 300 bullets. Glad I did because shortly after that order shipped, Beartooth Bullets ceased operations.
I searched the internet for another manufacturer of a similar bullet but could not find a company who would gas check 250 gr. bullets. I am a stickler for GC bullets, but I do not want to install the gas checks myself because I have to do that with .405 gr, bullets for my .45-70 and it is a time consuming, pain in the neck.
Recently, I noticed that the Montana Bullet Works Co. had begun installing gas checks on their 250 gr RN bullets. I spoke with Ben at the company and he assured me i would be pleased with their brand. So, on 1/17/2025 I ordered 200 bullets, and they arrived yesterday 1/28. I weighed them and measured the diameter of several bullets, and everything is consistent with what I ordered. I will test a batch at the range when the temperate gets above 40 degrees F. and will post a range report shortly after that.

I just received my MBW order, posted above. Mine was for 300 358156 w/gc. Im pretty impressed. It seems by the time I discovered the wonderful world of cast bullet goodness alot of the top casters went under.

You can go ahead, and thank California, for contributing to the demise of cast bullets

Re: Montana Bullet Works
Ca needs to go ahead and fall off of the coast.
