45-70 Various Loads

Luckly my bench is in a finished Man Cave Basement with AC it is just a blast furnace today. Just finished up 50 rounds in 5 round increments of 350 HC and 350 Berrys in 45/70 with LT30, H4895, IMR 4198, IMR 4895, LT32, and Accurate 4064. Heading to the range in the AM.

I have been loading .45-70 for several years using MBC 405 gr. coated cast bullets, Hornady 300 gr. JHP bullets, and Hornady 350 gr interlock round point bullets. The only powder I have ever used for .45-70 is H4198. Can't find H4198 any more, so I have a couple lbs. of IMR4198.

First let me state there are no published loads for the 45/70 using Accurate 4064. Any use of Accurate 4064 is a personal risk and I am not responsible for any using my loads and use at your own risk. I tested the following loads which are published loads all except for Accurate 4064. IMR 4064 which have published loads is almost equal on the burn chart at Accurate 4064. That said here is the info I have measured with a chrono.

Looks like a good load at 100 yds! I use IMR 3130 for the warmer loads and 13 gr. Unique for the plinking kind with 405 gr. cast lead bullet. I do load the big 500 gr. loads using same powders for the Uberti High Wall.
