Saw this on another forum, thought it was a little interesting.
My self, I have 10 to 12 different pistol and rifle powders, but mostly use only a hand full of them regularly.
The others see some use, but not like these...
Revolvers, its mostly Unique, 2400 and Red dot.
Rifles it's IMR 3031 and 4198, but use a bit of Unique and 2400 in a few also.

Unique for me because I use it in 20ga when Iām in Texas USA. I have 2400,231,Universal, HS-6,3031,AA7,RedDot,and a host of others. Gun club here has another 8lber of Unique. I was tempted to buy but just bought more 209 primers. If they still have it when I return I will buy it. Universal is non existent I have not seen any for sale in a long time

I could load all my center fire rifles with H 4895 and get by just fine. I have way too many different powders here but pretty much just reach in the cabinet for the 4895. My Swift even does well with it but I have been using up some H 414 in the Swift right now.

I use to use 4064 in my Swift Bandit. Dont have it anymore but it sure did take care of some prairie dogs.

Revolvers and Henry Big Boys 296 and 2400. Rifle mostly Varget as I shoot mostly 223 and 308. Pistols mostly Power Pistol in 9mm.
Like others I have several other powders on hand but the above are mostly used. I have powders for gun I no longer own.

I have several powders in use. I work up a load for each caliber, then rotate through the powders using them up at about the same pace. I'm trying to downsize my inventory. Once a powder is used up I might not replace it if I think one of the other powders performed better.

Well lately Unique... BE-86.... and Red Dot and these for my 44 and 45 loads including 45 ACP. When loading 38- 357 for range use it would be Power Pistol. Hotter loads for most would be 2400.

4064 was like it was made to really favor a 220 Swift. My Savage 112 BVSS-S shoots about any powder in the right burn rate range for Swifts. I have used a lot of 4064 and still have some on hand. H 414 is better metering in my powder measure and velocities are very high and accuracy is fantastic. Prairie dogs shot with a Swift look like a bottle of ketcup exploding. Many times I killed multiple PD's with one shot if they were near each other on the mound. My cousin who lived in Montana never saw them shot before and said it looked like bowling when he watched the Swift in action. Some dogs went spinning through the air looked like a hairy frisbee after being hit with the Swift. 220 Swift is the ultimate varmint exterminator. Long live the mighty Swift!
