Looking for Brass

Post by Headhog » Sat Nov 18, 2023 4:36 pm

My neighbor contacted me the other day and asked for some help with an old Marlin. So after exchanging some text messages he told me it was a Marlin Model 94 in caliber 32-20. He wanted to know if I could help him out with finding ammo and looking over the condition of the rifle.

So today he dropped it by and I'm blown away. This thing is in really great condition and has a wonderful patina on the metal. The bore looks great with no pitting and certainly could be a shooter, if you can find ammo. Based on the serial number it appears to be manufactured about 1907-1908.

So now I'm on a quest to find some brass to reload and/or loaded ammo. I've checked all the regular sources and 32-20 is impossible to find either loaded or fired brass. Yes there is some on Gunbroker, but $2.00 per round for fired brass is a little too steep. I you can help point me in a direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Paul, try these guys.
https://www.etbrass.com/Rifle_Brass.html

I bought some "primed" 25-20 from them back in the summer. Very, reasonable.
Excellent people to deal with.
It looks like they may have some, you have to call to order.

Duck Creek Sporting Goods didn't have 'em either. If I spy some. will let you know.

Opps! Looks like Randy found some. Good find!

I find a lot of components using Ammo Seek. It is an internet search engine dedicated to ammo but you can search primers, brass, bullets and factory ammo.

Good luck

I spoke with the folks at ET Brass and they are presently out of stock. They expect their supplier will be shipping some more next week, but that may take 2-3 weeks to make it to them. I just have to keep checking their website. So my search continues.

A Big Thanks to Vaquero for a heads-up on 32/20 brass. ET Brass had some in stock today and I just placed and order with them. Now I can get my neighbors Marlin 94 up and shooting. :D :D :D
