Apparently the sensors are IR sensitive. I've looking at IR puck lights and strips.

I found 150gn FN Sierra at Cabelas yesterday. Not cheap. $48 for 50pc.

I own and have used an Oehler 35P for over 30 years. Never had a problem. It has a proof channel so you get 2 velocity readings for each shot(3 sky screens). The machine sit on the table beside you and only the mounted sky screens are out front. It records and prints all data on regular adding machine roll paper............It's all I ever needed or wanted in a cronograph.

That's a nice one. But near $600, it's way out of range of what I would be willing to pay for one.
