I have a Henry lerver action Rifle. I can'I want to reload some 45-70 450gr bullets can't find what powders are good with the 450gr bullet. If you know or have a site with info, it would be a big help.

I would not trust any load info you read about on the net. Get a Lyman Cast bullet Handbook or one of the many reloading manuals that are available. You will probably find that there is some good info for using 4198 and 3031. Im sure there are several others you will find in the manuals

I know in my 16 in octagon bbl Marlin. My 400 gr cast bullets hits HARD on both ends of the rifle.

RTDM = Read The D Manual. Most handloaders have more than one manual to refer to The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook is a good place to start.Others on this forum or any other will not be shooting your rifle loaded with your loads. Make sure there are no distractions when you are loading, phone TV , computer etc. I like to prime all the cases and then add powder and seat the bullet to make a complete round ONE AT A Time. This cuts down on double charging and has worked for over 50 years.
