2400, 180 Grain .357 XTP’s, and a Single Shot

Post by zara_puppy » Sun Mar 12, 2023 9:04 pm

Does anybody out there have a magic formula for these components? I’m using WInchester brass and CCI non-magnum primers if that helps.

Specifically for a Henry Single Shot in .357.

Thanks!

You can start right around the 11.5 area and go up from there. I have had good luck with the Missouri Cast 180 in that range.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I looked in my Lyman loading book and they show the 180 XTP with Alliant 2400 at 10.0 to Start and a Max load at 12.6 gr.
11.5 would be a safe place to start like Al said.

Like Al, I have used that 11.5 load with the 180 gr cast from MB co.
Never tried the xtp's.

Exactly the reason why I'm working up 180 grain loads!
