Small Pistol Primers

Post by JEBar » Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:07 am

Powder Valley has small pistol primers in stock .... they are made in Argentina under the brand name Servicios Aventuras .... strong positive rating based on 163 reviews .... no personal experience with them, I'd look at them for use in practice ammo

At $80 per, not too bad for today's market.
But then there is shipping and Hazmat.

I have Never bought primers or powder online.
Luckily I' still have between 4 and 5k of spp's. ;)
My main use of them are the 357's,
I do use them in a couple others, but don't load many 32's and
no 9's at all right now.

One thing about Powder Valley is there shipping charges are very fair and the hazmat is 19.95. You can catch them at times with free shipping.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Got an email from Natchez today promoting CCI primers for $90 for standard. Also a post on our local trader site showing a store over in Coeur d’alene with Remington and Federal primers for $80. An attached picture showed several dozen cartons of each. Maybe just maybe this is the beginning of a more permanent price reduction.

That might be representative downward pricing, but still too high. Pricing must be a regional thing. I was in the store yesterday and they had SP CCI #500 standard primers for $5.03/100 (limit 2). Equivalent price of $50.30/1000.

That's not bad, in the grand scheme of things.
I mean just a couple years back they were running 35-40 bucks per k.

I've gotten a boat load of duds and rounds requiring a second strike in order to fire with the Servicio primers. They're not a bargain at all.
