RCBS hand primer

Post by Cofisher » Fri Oct 21, 2022 6:43 pm

I recently purchased the RCBS hand primer. My first use was very pleasant. I wore out/broke my Lee small primer parts. I will continue to use the Lee for large primers.

The new one, used for small primers, seems smoother and quicker. It is working to have one set up for different sizes. Fewer disassembly and reassembly issues.

we have 2 RCBS hand primers .... the first I purchased, the second was a gift .... keep one set on large primers, the other on small .... they really work well and give you a definite feel as a primer is pushed into place

Yep have one also and by swapping the conversion parts use it for large and small primers. Works great and one less thing to worry about on the 550B press when loading.

I have 3 RCBS primer tools. The first I bought (part of an RCBS kit) required shell holders and insert swaps for different calibers and primer sizes. Later I bought 2 RCBS universal tools. These don't use shell holders. I assembled one for large primers and one for small primers. I no longer waste time or fumble around to reconfigure tools.

I have about worn out my old-style Lee hand primer. I bought one of their newer ones and it is a piece of junk. Good to hear some positive reviews about the RCBS tool. I will have to do some more research but a new hand primer is in my future,

Mags. it's the RCBS hand priming tool #90200. I believe I bought it in the late 80's. It has the two round primer disks, if that helps.
