Getting Ready

Post by JEBar » Sat Sep 03, 2016 3:21 pm

well, there are some advantages to having a weak hurricane blow through .... being stuck inside, what better to do that putting together and organizing some hunting and practice ammo ....

shown below :

50 357 casings loaded with 38 special practice load

300 44 Mag practice loads

60 45-70 HSM Bear Loads .... marked so that they cannot be confused with practice loads

250 45-70 practice rounds

Hornady 45-70 LeverRevolution shells .... 10 fired, 10 unfired .... will gladly give them to anyone we happen on who would like them

no clue when I'll be able to get out on a range, hope its soon .. :)

Yep, bad weather is a good time to prepare for good weather. Looks like you spent your bad weather time very fruitfully.

I'd say you're ready for just about anything and everything.

Sure does look better than the ammo shelves at the LGS! ;)

the day we picked up our 45-70 there was only one store in our town that had ammo for it .... the only thing it has was 2 boxes of LeverRevolutions .... we bought 1 .... we later learned that we can usually get HSM Cowboy and Bear loads at Cabela's, they also have a few boxes of other brands .... since there isn't a Cabela's at most of the places we go, when we stop at one we pick up all we can afford .... once we get our reloading equipment fully setup, that will no longer be necessary .... my suggestion for anyone going away from home and planning to hunt, make sure you take more than enough ammo that you know will work in your firearm

if that's the case, it would be best to keep all weapons in a vault that only you can open .. :o
