Ordered the doppler system today after reading reviews and watching videos for 6 months. Seems like the least likely chronograph system to get shot up I like the idea of being able to set up the unit ON the bench instead of out Front of the bench, and gathering data on the bullet out past 50 yards at specified distances. Also to be able to check bullet/load accuracy without having to shoot through the triangle of a standard chronograph. The tech at the factory told me the radar size is around 5 feet tall and wide at 50 yards and will still track the bullet so aiming the unit at the target is not that critical.
The negatives are the price as well as a 12 week wait.
Anyone have any experience with the Labradar unit?

Well Ernie, I say if you have the Benjamin's, go for it ! ! ! I am sure you will develop several new "Friends" at the range when it arrives !! Congrats.

No direct experience, but I did had a chance to test some loads on one. A club I shoot matches at had one set up and was allowing folks to test their match ammo. They had the Labrador all set and all I did was aim at a target and pull the trigger. They told me there was a learning curve to get it set up and running, but once you get past that it worked very well. I was just glad to see it validated the results I got from my old Chrono I've been using for almost 30 years.

I'd love to own one, but I just can't justify the cost. Especially since my old unit still works well.

It is interesting and I do enjoy figuring out how neat gadgetry works. Also this is a tool and I try to get the best one I can afford. The doppler system has been around long enough that I hope most of the bugs have been worked out. Now I just have to wait. Something I am not so good at.

I looked at it when searching for a replacement for my old F1 Chrono that quit. A bit of setup and it was a bit expensive and then I decided on the Magneto Speed unit which has worked very well. Found a way to mount it on lever rifles which works well also.

Hope you can do a Range Report using your unit Ernie !

One of the big down sides I see with Magneto Speed Chrono is no way to use it with autoloading pistols. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

One of my main uses of my Chrono is to make sure the loads I'm using for competition make the mandatory power factor. The only way to know this for sure is to Chrono out of the gun I'm using and all competition guns are autoloaders. My other option is to bump up the powder load a bit for insurance. Which equates to more recoil and in a speed competition this is not good.

You can get optional equipment which will allow you to use this with air guns and archery as well. That is not something I am interested in at this time.

Checked the web site last night and saw the notification that LabRadar is not accepting backorders. So I sent an email asking if they are still honoring confirmed orders. Got a response today that they are fulfilling orders but not accepting any new ones. They also stated my order is expected to ship by the end of March which is about 4 weeks earlier than projected. Now I am starting to get excited.

Email tells me the unit is shipping today and should be delivered Wednesday. Not holding my breath. However it is a good 5 weeks earlier than projected.

Received today. Reading up in the operation. This weekend supposed to be cold and snowy so probably won't try yet. If I was as bad as RR the story would probably be different.
