hi,
is it possible (without risk) to use small pistol magnum in a 9x19 mm luger ?
i'm waiting for new box of small pistol primer, and need to reload 50 ammo before friday , and have only magnum pistol primer (winchester) ....
any adjustment to powder load ?

I've done so and that most certainly doesn't make it right .... I was not loading the maximum powder charge .... after firing, the cases showed no sign of excessive pressure

Same here as long as the loads arent a max charge you wont have any issues

Follow the advice above. No max loads and you will be ok. I've tested this in my 357 Mag rifles and magnum primers produce about 40-50 fps more velocity. So that would indicate slightly more pressure. Just stay a few grains below max.

I have to use SP Mag primers for all my 38 Special and Mag loads along with small primer .45 ACP brass since that was all I could find.
Have done test using Red Dot, Unique and 2400 powder and saw no notable difference in bullet speeds or excessive pressures.
If you can find small rifle primers they are the same as standard small pistol according to several reliable sources.
