I have a load worked up on my Colt AR 223/556 but I'll need to do the same with the long ranger when it comes in. Has anyone reloaded for the 223/556 lone ranger lever gun, and if so, give me a heads up on what powder/gr/etc?
I'll break it in with my factory, of which I have a bunch. And even though I've got the 223 and 556 on the colt figured out, it will not be the same with the lever action. It's just different pressures and values and if I can get a head start from any of you folks, I'll be thankful.

As I’m sure you are aware .223 rifles have a big variety of barrel twist rates. I don’t know the the twist rate in the Henry but if it is 1-9 or faster it will most likely like heavier bullets in the 69-77 grain range. I’ve had great success using Varget in various .223’s in both bolt action and semi-auto. I don’t have a .223 lever rifle but I should! Both the Sierra 69 and 77 grain Sierra matchkings can be loaded to magazine length so they will fit in your Henry’s mag fine.

“ The .223/5.56 20-inch 1:9 twist barrel didn’t particularly like the 55-grain FMJs, printing an average of 1.7-inch five-round groups at 100 yards from bags. That was likely the round. The accuracy kept improving as I fired, especially with the heavier rounds. The 64-grain Winchester Power Point round I use to cull deer printed at 1.2 inches, and the 77-grain OTM round printed an average of 1 inch on the nose, with very little deviation.”
