Looking for some thoughts on this powder..I have done some research on it and see where it burns really hot.
Some say it will burn the throat out of the fire arm. One guy mentioned how after two cylinders of 44 he couldn't how on the Barrel. ?? I guess the accuracy is excellent. But I don't want to ruin my my Henry. So what's your thoughts on this...

I've read/heard the same. There are other and better powders for your needs.

Once again, I think you'll be better off with Winchester 296, Hogdon H110, or IMR 4227. Just my 2¢ worth.

You can buy Hogdon powder direct. Watch their web site daily as the type and amounts fluctuate. I purchased 4lbs of 296 and 2lbs of H110 the other day. Buy enough to make the hazardous shipping charge worth the order. They've got IMR 4227 in stock today. It may not last long though.

I have never used Lilgun powder.
I prefer 2400 or AA#9 for .44 magnum (standard primers). I have also used IMR4227 and H110 (magnum primers).

Ive used it and its fine in a rifle. I wont use it in a pistol though because it does eventually wear and tear on the forcing cone. Freedom Arms a custom pistol maker in Wyoming does not recommend using it with there pistols. I agree on 2400,296, and 4227.

It’s the powder of choice in the 450 Bushmaster for a lot of people in rifles. Never read even one report of any harm being done.

Some people never check their barrels until the accuracy is gone.

Since several have suggested H110 as an alternative, you need to look at pressure/velocity data for both. According to Hodgdon web site a max load H110 357 mag 158 grain bullet will product 1,591 at 40,700 CUP. LilGun on the other hand produces 1,577 fps at 25,800 CUP. with a 10" barrel. With LilGun you get 99% of the velocity with only 63% of the pressure. Worth considering.

I'm not promoting LilGun or any powder - just pointing out some comparisons with powders folks have suggested as alternatives.
Hodgdon has admitted that Win 296 and H110 are the same powder. I suspect that same is true for IMR4227 and Hodgdon 4227. According to the Hodgdon burn rate chart, they are all adjacent with the following rankings (out of 150 powders)
LilGun - 63
W296 / H110 - 63.5 (assume tied since same powder)
IMR 4227/Hodgdon 4227 - 65.5 (again assuming a tie because same powder)

This is burn rate not temperature. I don't know the relationship between the two.
