Titegroup in 44 rifle
Titegroup in 44 rifle
Anyone have any good reports on this powder in 44 mag or 44 special with 200 gr cast bullets. . Idea is for a deer load in the swamp.. I have read where it is a good choice for revolver and seems it ought to be ok in the rifle as well. Thanks

Re: Titegroup in 44 rifle
Titegroup is a fast burning powder and would not be my choice for a hunting type load in a 44 mag. I would try and find some H-110,296 or 2400.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I agree with BigAl52. IMR 4227 would be another choice (I use it for light 44 mag pistol loads). It depends on your rifle. My Marlin likes 2400 and H110. They both shoot about the same. I've also tried TrueBlue with success but not as accurate as the 2400 and H110.

Agree with Al and Jake, 2400 would be a better choice. What powders do you have?

Appreciate your reply. I might just run a couple loads over the Chrono. Just to test at 50 yards..

I use titegroup with RNFP 200 grn bootlits in 44mag and 44 special for target practice. Works great. Never used them for hunting.
