Paper Patch ?

Post by Bake » Sat Jul 31, 2021 1:36 pm

I believe I have mentioned that I'm a shooter and not a hunter. Back in the early sixties, I would cast 30-30 bullets out of lead (90/95%) and tin. These bullets would be very soft and would require "Gas Checks", The combination of low velocity and smaller than 2 1/2" groups at 100yds. made shooting a pre'62 Winchester Model 94 fun to shoot.

I was thinking about trying Paper Patching, but I got my orders to Vietnam, so all of my reloading equipment other stuff went into a couple of footlockers in my parent garage. I knew better, but between a drunk and a pothead just about everything was gone by the time I got back.

Been thinking about turning the clock back to the sixties doing some paper patching. Has anyone tried patching the single shot, which I believe would be the easiest or one of the levelers? . . .
