Ohio Reloading Powder and Primers...

Post by Kissmybrass » Sun Jul 25, 2021 9:07 am

Quick visit to Cleveland this weekend (from Seattle) and hit the local Fin Fur and Feather store. Shelves were well stocked with CCI Primers and various powders. Had large rifle primers and 4198 powder in my hand! Spoke with the manager but the store wouldn't ship it back home and I didn't want to do anything illegal through UPS :-( Absolutely killed me putting it back on the shelf.

Out of curiosity, how much were the primers?

I believe they were 12.99 for 100 - the 1 lb of 4198 was 36

Not too bad on the powder, but way to high on the primers.

I just ponied up TOO MUCH money for 1K large rifle primers but what else is one to do? I can defer getting small pistol primers for a while.

I live about a mile from a Fin Fur store here in Ohio. Around here most won’t buy from them as they have a reputation as price gougers. It’s pitiful.

Sportsmans Warehouse in WA is low $ but so hard to find anything. Ammo is finally coming in (good prices, lowest guaranteed) but they get 8 pounds of powder a week and it's hit or miss if you are in the right store at the right time.
