The 40 S&W is a very good cartridge, but because of the 10mm it will probably go the way of the dodo bird. I started shooting the 40 S&W back in 1997 when I was big into USPSA shooting. I had a limited 1911 gun made by SVI in 40 S&W that made major caliber with 200 gr. bullets. The gun and ammo combo was great to shoot and I put many rounds through it. I finally quit USPSA shooting in 2003 and sold the SVI.

I still have a Glock 35, two Glock 23's and a Glock 27 all in 40 S&W. The Glock 27 is one of my favorite compact pistols. I like the 40 S&W cartridge and find it to be a very versatile cartridge.
