Finally Got Lucky

Post by Headhog » Wed Mar 10, 2021 7:38 pm

Since September of last year I've been trying to locate some 357 Mag. brass. Well just a few minutes ago I ordered 300 rounds of new brass at a fair price. I know there is a lot of brass on Gunbroker and other sites, but I was not going to pay 50 -75 cent a round for once fired brass. While checking the usual brass suppliers I found 300 rounds of JAG brass at Alamo brass. I grabbed them fast and so far the order processed. Considering the times their price was fair at 15 cents a round plus shipping. I usually buy Starline Brass but they are still backordered.

That will give me about 600 or slightly more rounds to load up. Cant wait to start feeding my BBS.

Maybe just maybe we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully primers will show up next.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

I think you did good, real good. I've not heard of them, but, looking them up, they make brass for a lot of companies. Been around for a long time; 60 years, so, they must know what they're doing. Good score 'hog.

Good deal HH, heck yeah 15 cents for new vs 50 cents for once fired, that may or may not be only once fired.

Just got back from my LGS. They had two sleeves of small rifle primers (100 ea). I snagged them up along with a box of .312 Hornady 85 gr bullets. The bullet shelves were empty except for a few not so popular calibers. I'll check back Tuesday as the salesperson said they might get some more primers in then.

Didn't get lucky, but the other night I was cleaning up under the bench, and
found a large coffee can about a third full of 45 acp brass already primed.👍
Just guessing I'd say over a hundred, as I didn't count them, but I know where they are.😉

Hey Shakey, would you mind sharing what you paid for those .312’s? I just bought a box of the 100 gr from a local guy who charged $30. Got home and there were only 85 in the box. Needless to say I won’t be dealing with him again. His price was high and now with the 15% shortage even higher. :(
