.45 colt test loads...

Going to try a few different 45 Colt loads using the Hornady 250 gr. XTP and the FTX 200 gr. bullet for expansion tests in the Ballistic Gel block.
The 200 gr. FTX was designed for the S&W 460 so to get the COL correct for 45 Colt I trimmed the tip to flush for a nice 1.600 right in the crimp groove.
Don't expect much expansion with this bullet at 900 FPS but we will see.
The loads are 200 FTX with 9.4 Unique staying within standard 45 Colt pressure and a Ruger type load using 20 gr. of Alliant 2400 to see expansion at speeds of 1300+ FPS. Next load is the 250 gr. XTP loaded with 8.5 gr. of Unique.
Will use the Ruger Bisley BH for standard and Ruger load along with the Henry 45 Colt Carbine.
