Nope... No reason for this ammo to be available to the General Public, and I would certainly hate to see the criminal elements begin to load up their "nines"with it. The job is dangerous enough without someone intentionally making the risk greater. Ammo designed to be armor piercing ammo is illegal in most states.

From what was stated the cost of it would be a limiting factor. Flexible body armor is now available to anyone including not so good guys.

Yup, but us good guys know how to deal with armored bad guys. I really worry about our brothers in blue if something like this makes it to the street. Cost? The drug dealers I saw nearly every day due to the job bragged about the money they burned... The wheels and tires on one kids car when he was arrested were worth five times more than the the beater truck I was driving at the time. ;) We had an eighteen year old dealer with a house, bmw, clothes, and bike, all free and clear. Jealous relative ratted him out for not sharin'.

Saw that a week or so back. Boutique bullets. As for the claims of armor piercing, there's already plenty of other ammo (mostly rifle) that will go thru IIIA.

That said, I carry 135g Hornady Critical Duty. I don't know if it will penetrate IIIA, but I know it will penetrate a couple layers of Jeep door and bury itself in the opposite door. I've tried it out. :)

My late friend was with the Florida Forest Service. He took his inexpensive C.Z. pistol chambered for the 7.62X25mm Russian Tokarev to the local head quarters. A couple of game wardens were there with their last yeast vests. They were very shocked when the pistol round went through their old vests that they had set up against a backstop. My friend gave me one of the C.Z. pistols and I still have it along with several boxes of ammo that is of course all full metal jacketed.
