Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
In lieu of current events I felt it necessary to get my troop ready just in case.
Took my pup to the range today and ran her through a couple of combat drills
Darn if she didn't shoot a 490 !
And now, back to my Jamison's

Last night I deprimed 30-06 & 308 MX brass, then placed an order for 1500 pistol bullets from Missouri Bullet.

Some time ago, I bought a pound of Alliant BE-86 powder for my 1911-A1. Seemed a little snappy, so went back to Unique or Universal. Think I'll try some in the .45 Colt/250gr rnfp bullets. Anyone else here use this powder? Something to fiddle with.

Got the batch of 50, 45/70 , trimmed, sized, flared, wet tumbled.
Ready for primers & the rest. Since the rest of the week is supposed to be blazing hot, reckon that's what I'll be doing.

Hornady 300 gr. JHP, IMR 4198 , 41grs. Works really well for me.

I push the Missouri 405 grain with 36.5 grains of 4198 on my 45-70, have not yet tried a 300 grain bullet yet. I agree, I like 4198. Ive also used H322 that works good, but I think performance is a tad better with the 4198.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
The reason I went with IMR 4198, was it was highly recommended by the Hornady manual. Guess I lucked up,
when I got very good results, first time out. Once in a blue moon,
but, I'll take it.

Normally doesn't work that smoothly. Well done ! Post up some picts when your done. Hornady is my number one go to for all jacketed bullets for all calibers. Just received an order of 2k .224 rounds on sale and got 500 free rounds when the boss gave me my Hornady LNL Progressive for xmas.
