There won't be any tragic stories about Henrys or SAA revolvers. I'm pretty sure.Vaquero wrote:Well if you own any black rifles, might want to stock up on components.
Probably be a run on them in the near future.
The site should be fixed. We show secure now, we should have a favicon and the picture aspect should be better.

Maybe not at 1st! Last time this happened. Run on ammo. Revolver stuff was some of the last to come back on the shelves.CT_Shooter wrote:There won't be any tragic stories about Henrys or SAA revolvers. In Australia they have confiscated all the semi autos. Now they are going after the lever actions and pumps!

You're right, Squatch. The reaction of panicked and fearful buyers (especially this year) is the most important problem we'll have regarding components. And it may go on for quite awhile, panic being what it is.Squatch wrote:Maybe not at 1st! Last time this happened. Run on ammo. Revolver stuff was some of the last to come back on the shelves.
I began my shooting hobby after SH and during an insane shortage of everything, especially in CT. As a result, as an enthusiastic new shooter, I began to buy reloading powder and primers and bullets and ammunition (especially 22LRs) whenever I would find them, which wasn't often, and just because they were available! At the same time, I was totally mystified by it all. Later, I considered the effects that a popular panic can have and that I responded in kind. I bought those things even when I didn't actually need them; rather, I bought them in case I might never see them on the shelves again. As Walter Cronkite famously said, "That's the way it is..."
So, I'm glad to have found enough of all of them to carry me through the next very many years. I really hope to live so long.

Yeh, they are small. The little bitty 100 gr RNFP seems hard to get hold of some times. I started reloading them when I began furnishing 380 auto pistols for the class to try out. Then of course I got my daughter one to practice with. And a couple friends wanted me to reload some for them.Squatch wrote:.380? Use those for primers in the 45/70!![]()

The truth is I like reloading nearly as much as shooting so for people that really get out and practice I will load their 380s for them. A friend of mine cast bullets commercially, I have to pay him a visit and get some more 380 bullets.

Just poking fun. They are also easy shooting and very concealable.
Yes reloading is therapy for me. After years in a crazy multi-tasking tech support job my long term focus had been destroyed. Reloading safely requires so much concentration that it has really helped me recover some of my mental focus since I retired. That's huge to me. I was starting to feel kinda ADD.

Re: What are you reloading today...???
I hear you, Squatch. Reloading beats the heck outta watching mind-numbing TV for me. I'm loading some max load #9 .357 tonight. My Henry and my shooting work better with fast bullets I never used AA powders until it was all I could get during the drought for handgun loads. I'm happy with it so far. I use #5, #7 and #9. AA #9 is my new magnum powder. I stick to AA's load chart and have loads for 38, 357, 9mm and 40 S&W that work. My only complaint is how fine it is. It leaks some out of my Lee Pro Disk Powder measure but I can live with it.
