I want to get one of those rotary tumblers if only for the magnates.
I love magnates.
The Harbor Freight Rock Tumbler is an option I've eyed.
I've heard of people using a rotary tumbler to take the sharp edges off new Marlin levers and gates.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
When I used mine Randy it will depend on how many cases you do at one time. Most of the time I would just use all the pins and throw in what cases would fit.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Randy, my tumbler came with 5lbs. of pins. I use the all. No problems. Won't hurt a thing. The pins will last forever. You may lose a few, here & there, especially during separation.
As for Ojails question, about parts & rough edges, the original use for tumblers was smoothing edges from rocks. Rock collectors use them for that. FWIW.
Once you go stainless, you'll never go back, LOL

Here is a guide line I use that I found online somewhere. My tumbler (Thumblers M/B) has a one gallon capacity and uses 5 lbs. of pins. If your’s is a half gallon just cut this in half.

Loaded some of the 158 gr. RNFP last night.
Hand weighed the powder on about 25 of them for ultimate accuracy testing!

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Just a little side note, FWIW. Went to the Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet,TN this am, looking for some Hornady XTP 9mm 124gr.
bullets. None to be had, went on to Bass pro, none, local gun shop, none. Guess I'll try online, but they all say they are behind on orders. So.....here we go again, I suppose, LOL
Also, Academy Sports was the same & their ammo shelves were empty, lines to buy guns. Same at Bass Pro.

Lots of 9mm 'big name' brand bullets but no bulk. Other calibers however.
One day of long lines but the next was pretty quiet and looked like a normal day.
