Sorry Tom I dont. I have only used HS-6,Red Dot, and Unique in my 45 Colt. Got some good groups with HS-6 when I was playing with my Henry Carbine shooting the 250 gr. I havent shot much 45 Colt lately. Ive been playin with 357 and this CCH carbine trying to get it figured out. Then ended up sending it back to Henry. You might try some HS-6 unless you are trying not to buy a bunch of powders and I get that.
Site seems to be working OK.

I loaded about 300 rounds of 357 today after fighting with one of my Dillon machines. I bought it a few years ago and it was used. It keeps flipping the primers and they get seated sideways. I tried several adjustments and some inspections of the cycling but could not seem to find the issue. There is some play in the shell plate that isnt there on my other machines. Im thinkin thats the issue but I dont have the spare parts to fix it. Dillon does and there lifetime warranty is great. Im gonna send it to them and let them go through it. Moved my dies to another machine and had the rest loaded in a very short time.

I have the Dillon 550B and found that using a hand primer works out much better as far as one less thing to worry about during theBigAl52 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 7:14 pmI loaded about 300 rounds of 357 today after fighting with one of my Dillon machines. Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Maybe I can be of help. I have loaded Hornady 250 gr. XTP bullets with 20 gr. of 2400 and shoot them in my Ruger Alaskan.
I get 1100 FPS out of the 2.5 inch barrel and are fairly accurate for it's intended use.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Have you tried those in a lever gun yet? I know I'm straying from my standard Unique load, but, it's winter. Probably try a couple of powders and see, then go back to Unique. We handloaders are like that.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 10:28 pmMaybe I can be of help. I have loaded Hornady 250 gr. XTP bullets with 20 gr. of 2400 and shoot them in my Ruger Alaskan.

Hey Tom, I resemble that remark.
Nice to know there are alternatives,
in case you can't find your go to powder some day.
Then again ya might stumble onto a better load.

Another one you can try is Universal Clays Tom. I have had good luck with it in cases where unique was ok but I was lookin for something a little better.
Forty all three of my machines are the square deal machines. Ive had one about 20 years. Its been back to Dillon one time as I used the heck out of that one. I bought the other 2 used very good prices. So I was able to use one of the other machines. But I know if I call them they will go thru it so Im gonna do that as I have the other 2 to fall back on. I dont use them as much as I use to anymore. With 9mm so cheap cant even reload them for what I can buy them for. My time is worth something.

I agree on the 9mm...I think they give you the ammo and just charge you for the box!BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 10:01 amAnother one you can try is Universal Clays Tom. I have had good luck with it in cases where unique was ok but I was lookin for something a little better.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
No...since my only .45 Colt rifle is a Uberti/Win. 1873 and not stout enough for that kind of load. Should work fine in a Marlin, Henry or Win. 1892 type.Rifletom wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 11:47 pmHave you tried those in a lever gun yet? Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Al, I did load 15 up with "Universal". It's RR's load using the 250gr rnfp, but, coated and 7.0gr. I'll be checking those and my new Leupold 2-7 I put on the .45 Colt. I 'm DONE searching for a .357 load. Those 180's are it. Let's see now; Church is done, breakfast is done...... got it! Play-offs!BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 10:01 amAnother one you can try is Universal Clays Tom. Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Well just got done messing with my Dillon. Tore it all apart and looked at the indexing arm. Discovered that the screw that holds it in place was loose. Cleaned it up tightend that screw made some other adjustments and got it workin like it should. Tom let us know how you like the RR load.

Curious to know myself how those rounds shoot for you.
At -10F I will do a hundred rounds of those this afternoon. Too cold to do much else.

Al glad ya figured out the Dillon, and didn't have to send it off. Good job.
Shot those SWC 45's I made yesterday, just so I could reload them and try out that 2400 load I posted for Tom.
Hopefully I will get home in time to shoot 'em tomorrow afternoon.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Excellent! Let us know how they work. I'm going to try for tomorrow.
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Ya me to Randy. They now charge for rebuilding the loaders which they didnt use to do. Im sure its an economic thing. If you do the work yourself they will send you the parts. Square Deals are pretty easy. I bought my first Square Deal it was 189.50 Now there 459.00.

Sizing brand new 35 Reminton cases.
Decided to shoot 35rem in Lever Action Silhouette this year so I broke out a stash.
Have a good stock of Speer 180 and 220 flat points. Testing Barry's 158s
