What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Got my other Dillon set up for loading some 140's with 6.5 grains of Unique and changing its location on my bench. Then did change the powder in the 40's for the Rock Island. Started using some 231 with 165grhp Xtreme bullet. See what the Rock thinks of it next time out.

I relearned a lesson today about breaking concentration when loading powder. I was finishing up loading 100 357 rounds when brown delivered some primers. I guess I had my mind on other things for a short period of time because i looked down as I was setting the bullet and I had loaded a double charge. I was glad I caught it but it made me wonder so I wayed all hundred and found one without powder. In the past I would load all the cases with powder then inspect with a flashlight, but I have a new E scale so i figured I would dump the powder then set the bullet. My new system saves some time but I am going to have to come up with a better check for the system.

Bought a Cyelee CT2 reflex sight for my Henry Single Shot. I really like the reflex sights on the rifles. It has a green dot rather that a red. Going out shooting tomorrow with it and a couple pistols. Hopefully a range report on the 180 strikers out of the SS. Also loaded more of the 140gr MBC bullets with 6.5 grains of Unique.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Just finished loading some of those heavy cast I made last Sunday.
I got 25 loaded over 15 grs. of 2400, 10 are gas checked and the others aren't just see what difference it makes.
Then I loaded 8 over 24 grs of 2400 for the Marlin 444P half are checked and half are not.
I'll try 'em tomorrow and report back.

(I thought I posted this yesterday, but I must have forgotten to hit "submit"! My apologies if it appears twice.)
I loaded 20 rounds of .270 Win short mag. LR mag primer, 59.0 grains H4350, and 130 gr. Sierra Game King SBTs.
Every time I load these, I feel like I'm loading little artillery shells! But they are fun to shoot (from the Tikka, which makes mouse ears). After shooting 20 rounds though, it's time for a cigar!

I ordered a Summit Precision Barrel 16 inch for my Ruger 10/22. Its a carbon fiber barrel and I think it will be fun to have a light weight barrel on it for offhand plinking.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Got some brass tumbled, dried out, and annealed today. Ready to size & reload. The annealing isn't so much for "target-grade" accuracy (not gonna happen with my eyes and open sights.....
) as for case longevity, and for neck-to-bullet tension consistency. Got my "Version 2.2" done for my wet tumbler using a free treadmill motor. Also made a smaller (shorter) container for smaller amounts of brass that is mostly what gets tumbled. Hard to find components and a little bit pricier than it's been to shoot like I did in past years.......
In EDIT: Here's a link to a 6 minute video of my wet tumbler, in case anyone's having a tough time falling asleep at night........

Found something about as rare as hen's teeth...
Fifty pieces of New 444 brass
Don't really need 'em at the moment, but I just couldn't pass on them.

Got out the TC Contender the other day and decided to put together some 357 Max loads to shoot the ole TC again. So into the tumbler went some 357 max brass
