These days, I tumble smaller batches, and can be more selective. I load a lot of nickel cases and they really polish up.

I used the dillon polish with the crushed walnut and ran two or three hours on most brass. I loaded it, shiny enough.
We were loading in volume shooting competition. I did put Every case thru the chamber gauge before it went into the bin as good to go.
Overly dirty or overly weathered cases, (after cleaning,) got tossed, not taking the chance on them being weakened by exposure.

Oh, as a former Marine, I LOVE highly polished brass.
