I am a Starline user but my .454 cases for the Model 83 are Hornady's. I haven't been stoking the beast with hot loads like I did in my younger years so the Hornady cases will probably take me to the finish line.

I'm wondering what sort of issues you are having with the Starline brass?

Primer pockets useless after about 4 or 5 loadings. Yes, ok, some were pretty stout but never book max or beyond.

I've a 454, and from what I understand, that's pretty common. The round is extremely high pressure for a straight wall magnum cartridge. It's easy to get a bullet well into the 55k or even 60k psi range. A careful choice of powder and bullet combo is necessary.
