Primer Check

Post by Pitchman1968 » Sat Jan 22, 2022 1:47 pm

Has anyone been able to find Large Rifle and/or Large Pistol Primers? I know they are available on sites like Gun Broker but at "scalper" pricing.

Is the NRA doing anything except "jawboning" about reloading components?

I know it is illegal to bring primers into the U.S. from Canada. Are there similar laws that forbid ordering primers from countries in Europe and Asia? I am thinking about places like South Korea, Japan, India, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, England, and the Scandinavian countries.

Thanks for sharing any insights.

LGS got some last week 1 brick limit, shop owner said those were on back order for a year, I just got lucky to be there before they sold out (20 minutes they were gone)

I stocked up at my LGS few weeks ago on large and small pistol. Just happened to walk in at the right time and went back 2 more times. There was no limit and at a reasonable 59.99 per thousand.

Over the past 4 months I have been able to get all the primers I need from Midway. I asked for notifications on what i need then jump on them.

Midway’s notification process leaves alot to be desired. Im on the list and never have received one yet. I do better with ammo seek. Not sure what the NRA can do about primers or anything else for that matter

sorry to hear that BigAl, I have had pretty goo luck, same as lever. The only issue is, once you get the notice, you have to jump on it because it goes fast. If the notice comes in the the AM and you don't check your email until the PM, your going to miss.

I put some primers in my cart a couple of months ago, was in the check out process, but was distracted for 5 minutes, came back to finish and they were sold out !

Two weeks in a row I've scored primers at LGS things are looking up.. Drop my 45acp load 2/10th of a grain for Magnum primers and stuff'em with 230 ball. And got some deer bullets to load in my brothers Garand.
