Area gun shop has some primers....
Saw an online ad for Green Tops which is a large gun store north of me advertising a big sale and sporting event and gave them a call about primers.
Yes they had a variety of primers at 9.50 per hundred which is going to be right at 100 bucks per 1000 with sales tax. You can find primers from a couple big online stores for 76 bucks per 1000 plus shipping and hazmat which equals 100 bucks. Guess you pays the hundred and decide whether to make the drive or wait several days!

Re: Area gun shop has some primers....
Back when I was I high school in the 70s, Greentop used to be one of my Go To places to shop. They were still in the old crappy (huge) building on Route 1 North of Richmond where they had been for decades. They had racks and racks of used long guns, huge fishing section, gunsmith on site. My buddies were bow hunters in high school, and they cut arrows while we browsed.
Years later, when I left the Corps, and started my second career, they were still there on Route 1, still Greentop. I ordered bulk ammo for my department from them each year, Miss T and I bought fly tying supplies there, lures and plastic frogs and worms...
Then they moved to their fancy new home by I-95.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Yep I have bought a couple guns from both the old place and the new. Liked the country feel of the old place though.

In the last 3 weeks or so I have been able to buy bricks of large pistol and small pistol primers form Midway. They also notified me about large rifle primers but I didn't buy them because I found another brick from my move in a unpacked box. The price with shipping was about $100 a brick. Seems things are loosening up.

I went to the local Scheels store yesterday looking for a few things. I kind of expected what I saw to some extent but not so with percussion caps. Round balls of various calibers have gone up about 4.00 per 100. They didnt have any primers but did have a fairly decent bullet selection including quite a few of the Hornady xtp bullets. No 140's though. I asked a gentleman about primers and he said they had just bought 1 mil worth of Federal primers. There supposed to be in in the next 2 weeks. They will be divided among the stores. Im not sure how many Scheels stores there is but he mentioned they should be getting some of each. Percussion caps hit the sticker shock mode as they had Winchester #11 mag caps at 13.00 per 100. They still have as many as they did when I walked in because I didnt buy a one.
Don't let the old man in

That black powder getting $$ to shoot now. Didn't somebody way up in the Northwest beyond the border buy up all the caps?
