Cash for Brass

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Jul 13, 2021 11:44 am

I took five 5-gallon buckets of brass to the recyclers this morning and drove away with a check for $659.25. I had no idea it was worth that much.

Now imagine if you had sorted by caliber and sold it online….. scrap “bullet brass” around here goes for $1.60 per pound.

I scrap brass, but it is only rimfire and damaged cases….

Yikes! I need to save more brass. I've been saving spent primers and damaged brass, but I may start picking up 22 hulls at the range.

If you're going to do that, I'd suggest buying a cordless shop vac. They can be had for under $100 for a 2.6 gallon vac.

I bet cleaned and separated I could have gotten $4-5K for it. I just don’t have the 200 hours to do it.
