Hard cast in the 41 mag

Post by Slugnut » Sat Mar 26, 2016 8:20 am

:?: I'm a newbe to the 41 mag.....Has anyone reloaded 255g FP-GC hard cast bullets for the 41 mag. rifle ? All the data I researched is for the handgun. How many FPS do you gain (per inch) using a longer rifled barrel (20"- H012M41). I have the powder (W296,A No.9 and Lil Gun). I'd like to obtain a velocity about 1,500 or more with these cast bullets if possible. The Hornady 210g XTP are made to work at 1000-1450 FPS. (hand gun bullet). I'd like to feel confident with 100 yd. shots on deer and black bear. Any and all info./ experience is welcomed concerning this matter.

Go to ranchdog outdoors.com he has a lot of data for cast.

I would suggest slugging the barrel so you know what diameter to size the lead bullets.
