I am looking for a case like this, I actually have on order this same PCP rifle. It is 37” long, I do not know the height - nobody publishes that spec - but with a scope mounted it is pretty lofty. So a typical 6 or 8” wide case won’t work....I am looking for a “big enough” case but I don’t want a bunch of excess length. 40” to 42” (inside) would be perfect.




Does anyone know the make and model of the one in that pic? I do prefer the “pluck” foam on the bottom instead of eggcrate foam

John, I can’t help you with that particular case but to me it looks like what is called a take down shotgun case. I have a cheap one that I measured and it’s 11” x 37.5”. I’m thinking a better quality case than my Gunguard brand might be longer and wider....my measurements were inside.

A double shotgun, rifle case might work.

Looks very similar to my Plano case. It has the "pluck" foam and very sturdy locks. It's also TSA approved.

That pic at the top is not a Plano, but I may order one anyway, in spite of its dubious quality control and some poor “upgrades” to The Gen 2 case. The original AW had a more robust design and end latches, the new ones are flimsier and have no end latches, so the seal doesn’t seal there. Reviews at Amazon vary from wonderful to absolutely awful. But I found a source for a 42” one for $85 shipped, so I think I will take my chances.

MIne's a Gen1. Caught it on sale when they came out with the new version. There might be one listed on GB.

I decided to not order an AW Gen 2, it just doesn’t look like a decent case. I ended up ordering a MidwayUSA brand soft tactical case with a long strip of Molle-like webbing down the middle of one side, and two Velcro loops. $34, it should be fine, though it limits being able to carry accessories. Unless they are shaped like AR15 mags - I could carry about 5000 loose pellets in those pouches....

I have a couple of MidwayUSA soft cases and like them, they are a good value.

HEADS UP: They have a VERY fine Pelican 44” wheeled unit on sale at a terrific price ($149) but it is just too massive and heavy for me. For somebody going on Safari or flying with rifles it is a great choice. It looks very cool in tan. You have to Add to Cart to see the special price. I don’t know why they do that.

Nice case and good price, but WAY too big for anything I might need.

Darn it, my MidwayUSA soft case just shipped and guess what popped up on my local firearms classifieds... a used 13”x42” Gen 1 (with end latches) Plano for $40.
