Dog dental care - Greenies

I have two 40 pound Australian Labradoodles, They don’t get lots of hard stuff to chew on like bones or rawhide, and they normally would need a vet visit and sedation every few years to clean off the tarter. At $300 each that is a considerable expense and any full sedation is risky.
Three years ago the vet said that they need a cleaning soon. I decided to try a different tactic. Greenies are “dental treats”. I give each dog one “Regular” treat daily. They absolutely love them and look forward to it.

Both dogs recently had a regular checkup and the vet said their teeth are fine, no worries at all. So the treats not only held off future tarter buildup, they removed existing tarter.
These are expensive in small quantities and especially if bought at a pet store. I use camelcamelcamel.com to watch out for frequent sales at Amazon. When I get notice of a price drop, I reorder. I just bought three more boxes of 72 for $60 each on sale. The smaller size treats are cheaper.
Highly recommended as an alternative to sedation and scraping! They have to be given regularly to be effective.
