Spotted a fox pair in the back yard this morning while in my pj's drinking my first morning cuppa right at sunrise. One of them jumped up on a big log I haven't disposed of yet and sat there for a couple minutes just looking around. They both looked healthy and well fed.

First I've seen in a few years, so I reckon they're back. I might have to sit in my hide with my 9422m Win in addition to the Henry this deer season. Maybe bag a little furry critter if there's no deer show up. Fox are listed as nuisance critters in MS, so no license or other restrictions about them on private property.

Not even any two legged ones?

We've got a pretty red fox vixen living up on the hill behind my shop. She raises a flock each year and some naturally end up
dead on the highway a half mile away. I see her in the snow sometimes. Pretty sight. Now if I had chickens..........

The coyotes are hard on the foxes and we have a lot of them as well.

And today a cougar was spotted in downtown Minneapolis. They've been spotted around us here for years. There was
a photo of one dragging a dead dear across I35 a few miles south of me. That's fenced on both sides so that animal
was strong. Course the fence is only 3 or 4 feet high.

Observing the two legged ones is my hobby. Just don't let the boss catch you looking.

Over the last 35 years, I've been lucky enough to see foxes quite often at my house, which is in a small neighborhood of 1/2 acre lots very near the lower CT River. One morning, my wife and I spent the better part of half an hour watching through a window as a mother and her pups were playing in our backyard about twenty five feet from our back door. We were totally captivated.

This fellow was a regular visitor two years ago. Several months after this photo was taken, he was in very bad condition with mange. I swore that the next time he came by, I'd break the law and shoot him. It was such a pitiful sight. But, I never saw him again.

I have several that roam around the range property and enjoy seeing them on the trail cams.
