just wondering .... how will the realities of life today affect Mother's Day for you .... :?: :?:

for us, our family will be gathering as usual but it won't be the usual gathering .... this will be the first time we've all been together since early January and the first time we've seen our oldest son since then .... he's a doctor and as such has been exposed to the virus on almost a daily basis ... as such he's very reluctant to come around us .... we will be picking up food from two of our family's favorite restaurants, BoJangles and Smithfield Chicken and BBQ .... we plan to spread out our setup of camping chairs and TV trays in the back yard .... our older grandchildren understand the need for "social distancing" but we 2 year old and 4 year old grandsons will be a different story .. ;) ..

Hey Jim -

Sounds like you will be eating well at least. I drove past Bojangles yesterday hoping to go into NC Gunrunners (but the line to get in was 10 people deep) and the lot was full and the drive through lone ran around the building. We were talking about getting some of their takeout soon. I managed to get to Smithfield’s for lunch one day shortly before the shutdown.

We are going to have my MIL up and cook some burgers on the grill.

My mother is too far away and in a condition that I really cannot even go visit until this situation resolves itself, so we will call her. Sent her some pears from Harry and David’s, which she loves.

Your right, this Mom’s day will be different, my wife’s requests were simple. Skype with the kid’s and grand kids, put ribs in the Traeger and I make her a French silk pie. Binge watch Jack Ryan.

My Mom passed in 2013, at the ripe old age of 96. Fine woman, I miss her.

My mom is 91 this year, lives in Ontario. Won't see her but we are ordering chicken dinners for her and my brother that will deliver for supper from a Swiss Chalet restaurant not too far from her house. I did see her last year when my dad passed away.
Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there.
