Anyone still write letters?

I just wondered. I used to enjoy getting letters in the mail from friends and family. I would say that its a dying art. I still write my young grandaughters almost weekly as a different way to keep in touch. The are little kids so I draw silly pictures too. Just a way to interact.
So, I just wondered....am I the last man in America sending handwritten letters through the mail?????

Our family does Christmas Cards every year. My Wife and I in fact address over 300. Some family, some clients.
I communicate a lot with email, Facebook where I keep up with my Grandkids who probably don't know Gramps is watching,
and PM on the smart phone. Just a newer way to write letters I guess.

Not sure a Henry Letter Forum would work....4 or 5 members who chat once a year....

My wife is from an established family in Knoxville, TN. She always writes Thank You letters whenever she receives a gift from someone, and she also does hand written Christmas cards. I think its a southern thing.

Until recently I wrote to my father and stepmother on a regular basis, as they didn't use email, or own a computer. My stepmother was so tight with money that she could squeeze a nickel and seven pennies pop out. I couldn't call because you couldn't hold a conversation. She rushed off the phone because she didn't grasp free long distance.

I finally convinced her the calls cost me nothing, especially important as her vision deteriorated to the point she cant read letters any longer, and dad must use a lighted high powered magnifying glass. So, I call regularly.

I do still.write actual letters to businesses. Letters to highlight good and bad experiences, review products, or offer a sincere compliment. It's been my experience that they place more value on the contact if you take the time to write a letter, especially hand write one.

You would be amazed. (I often cheat, compose them in word, then hand write them.)

Actual handwriting is disappearing too.
