Around here when it snows the bread and milk is gone but plenty of eggs and chicken. With the virus plenty of bread and milk but no chicken or egg
products. Yeah I can see folks freezing the chicken for future use but eggs and egg beater products???
Just my view after going to the grocery store at 7 AM this morning.

Agree with that forty! I was able to finally buy some at a smaller store with few people in it. Go figure! The bigger stores seem to attract a LOT more people. Stay safe forty.

Heck, we can hardly find any of those items! And as we all know, TP and sanitizers are out of the question.

Yup
I hit the smaller stores they seem to have the stuff I need. Except toilet paper. I have plenty of that for now but I do see Amazon is getting it back slowly but surely

And it's not just eggs, it's chickens, too. I read that this year's spring day-old chicks sold out in record time across the country, mostly because of people new to raising chickens.

Picked up my 2nd order at Kroger's last night. No problem with eggs, we got a dozen, but still no TP !!

I always ask the guy loading my trunk how the paper goods look inside and always get the same answer "Not much, if any". I tried again as usual and got the absolute last box of regular size Kleenex. And still no TP and not even any paper towels.

Will try again tomorrow, lol.

Same reason they are hoarding everything else. They believe there's no tomorrow, product wise, whether it's eggs or ammo.
It's not going away any time soon. Of course, it's tornado season here in TN. I'm tucked in, good to go. Hope all you guys & gals stay safe & healthy.

There is no rhyme or reason to the hording. You will never make any sense out of any of it.

We are using a lot more eggs because everyone is home. and there is a ton more cooking, baking going on here, I'm gonna get fatter! :D Eggs are not in short supply here but man they have shot up in price..
I did order chicks (layers) this year.. This will be our third rotation of layers over the last 10 years. I am glad we ordered them early, it seems like they are going super fast. They charged me for 12 but somehow I got home with 13.?. Not sure what happened there.

It's the very selfish ones of the world.
Really don't understand the TP thing. I'm still working on what I had when this all started.

Getting eggs here is hit or miss, mostly hit, so not too bad. We too are doing a lot more stay at home cooking and baking.

As long as there's not a shortage of chicken feed we're good on eggs. My friend's chickens lay around a dozen a day and she has 6 new ones that haven't started laying yet.

Still no TP but we're OK for now, a friend that works at Fred Myers says they put some out every morning and while it's not the mad rush to get to it that it was, it still goes pretty fast. I'll have to get up early one of these morning and try to get some. I've been doing my weekly shopping a hour so before they close and there's very few other shoppers there, and other than TP, paper towels and a few other items they're fairly well stocked. I do keep my freezer and pantry pretty well stocked in case it changes.

Our governor just extended the non-essential business's shutdown until May 4th although there are a lot of exceptions. Even the pot stores are considered essential.

Around here if someone loads their grocery cart up with something, the other people in the store think that person must know something, so they go nuts after it too, before long, it is gone.

Due to my health concerns, our strategy is to go to my old home town small grocery store as they seem to be keeping up well, it isn't crowded, plus it is a family owned small business. It is a bit of a drive but worth it to avoid the big city ridiculous behavior.

my Dad grew up dirt poor in the NC mountains and was a product of the Great Depression .... after WWII he maintained a well stocked pantry of preserved vegetables, paper products, coffee, and most any other household item that he could catch on sale .... in looking back, I inherited similar practices .... we keep our camper well stocked so that we don't have to shop during our drives that can cover 5 or more consecutive days .... during our 3 months in South Dakota we are about 70 miles from the nearest Sam's .... the expense of a 140+ mile round trip in our truck highly motivates me to stock up .... its pretty much become the norm for us to leave home with sufficient paper products of all kinds to last us well after we return home .... I guess its similar to having a 100 gallon fuel capacity, it really comes in handy by allowing us to take on fuel when we want to instead of when we have to .... the shortages we are seeing are short term, and supplies will eventually fill the store shelves .... and, we will refill the the storage ares in our camper .... all that being said, we haven't had a major issue with finding anything but doing so seems to require shopping multiple stores
