Happy Friday!

Post by ESquared » Fri Apr 03, 2020 9:36 am

Remember when "Happy Friday" meant that you'd made it through another work-week? Well, our work-weeks have probably changed a lot lately, from doing it all from home, or not doing it at all, or working harder than ever (ask Daytime Dave!).

This thread can be about what "Happy Friday" means to you right now, in this moment. But, for me, here's what comes to mind:
  • What we're going through is not the "new normal," it's just a crazy, unprecedented event that has turned many (most) lives upside down. So that's "good" on this Friday.

The news-cycle is endless, but marking Friday as the end of work-week at least gives us a milestone by which we can reset the clock; so, we've made it through another week, and that's good on this Friday.

With each passing week, we all get closer to the end of all of this; depending on where you are, the timeline is different, but we're all getting closer to the end, and that's good.

Today's crazy weather notwithstanding (ICE STORM in KC?), the seasons are changing, so, even if you're self-isolating, at least you can do some of it outside.

There's nothing more self-isolating than turkey hunting, so, if you can, try it; if you can't, wish another turkey hunter well. It's all good.
You get the idea. So, find your own reason that this Friday is a good day for you. All we can do is make the best of it.

I checked the Empty Saddles thread and I wasn't listed, so all good. Keep calm and carry on.

Happy Friday! Still above ground. Al Capone used to say " every day above ground is a good day". Kinda hard to ague with that.
I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Neat to establish this first "Happy Friday," Evan.
The calendar for next week shows Good Friday.
Should be better yet. :D

Happy Friday, it's a good day, and still working. Job out in the county, 40 min country drive and hardly a car in sight.

Al, wish you were closer bud, you'd be more than welcome to go.

I recently retired, so Friday doesn't mean as much as it used to since there are now six Saturdays and a Sunday in my week!

Today is a happy Friday as we are giving my daughter a respite from full-time parenting. Since school has been canceled and she is not teaching and our son-in-law is actually working more hours, she has effectively been single-parenting. She gets a break today/tonight and we get the joy of the little guy.
