Ran up at lunch to get a couple boxes of bullets.

Reloading supplies were showing 'thinning' but still lots of powder and major name brand bullets.

SPP's were nearly gone as well as most bulk bullets with only a couple calibers left and no 9mm (of which I needed)

I grabbed a 250 box of some 158 gr, Plated RNFP .357 and a box of Speer .30 cal 110 gr FMJ for my light 30-30 loads.

The most notable thing however was about 20+ people in line at the gun counter and the wall display about half gone.

The disturbing part of this is the statistics are showing many of these 'panic' gun buyers are first time owners.

Yeah and some are finding out it's not just a walk up and say I want that one and just get it and walk out. Also.
But I understand what your saying.

I bet alot of them are buying guns and not thinking about the fact they cant buy ammo because its already non existant

Some will quickly learn toilet paper is easier to hoard than firearms & ammo.

Next October there should be some great deals on used guns.

And it also seems like some new people actually thought you could just order one online and have the truck deliver it, like many made it sound like through the years. Only to find out, no way. Depending on what state, some may have realized that they were not even going to get one home that same day. In some other states, I think the virus may be over before they finally even let them have one.

That said, I'm running low on TP, lol.

I remember some shortages in the past I swore I would never be caught in again. Ive got plenty of powder bullets and primers. No shortage of 22 ammo here either. For the TP lovers Ive got no shortage of TP at my house.

Over the last couple months I have stocked up on shelf ammo for my Mini 14 and have a good supply of loaded ammo in .45 ACP,especially 230 gr. XTP and .44 Mag ,.45 Colt.
In case of some emergency the shotguns, .45 ACP carbine, Mini 14, and assorted handguns are ready to go. Lever rifles are backup.
Who would have thought it would be hard to find 9mm ammo these days....shades of the .22 rimfire shortage some years back!

All the same Al, plus I cast some also.

I'll trade you a box of 22's for some rolls of TP, lol.

I actually ran out of TP last week. Found some the next day and only bought eight rolls.

It was MUCH worse in the past - I remember 2008 thru about 2012 when the shelves were literally bare of powder & primers along with .22 & most of the 'big 5' calibers - and several popular rifle calibers as well.

Similar situation here. Hadn't planned on going there today, but my wife had me out on an errand nearby, so I stopped in to get a box of .45 Colt and a box ACP. Plenty of .45 Colt but no ACP except for a couple of boxes that happened to be disguised-mixed in with the .45 Colt (same brand label). The rest of the ammo shelves including reload supplies were nearly depleted. Just a box or two of the less popular calibers. .38s completely sold out and interesting enough there was a lot of .22 and .17 ammo still on the shelf. There was line of about 10 people or so looking to purchase a firearm. They had the 'wait here for next available sales rep' ropes up to control approach to the gun desk.

Oh, I don’t know...one guy I saw was being sold a 45-70 because “it could kill a T-Rex”.

I took the plunge to go into town yesterday because I was all out of 9mm ammo. The Gun Store was packed, and the people seemed rushed, and maybe panicked. There were people buying guns left and right. I had to wait for 10 minutes before someone could help me. It's nuts out there.
