I wear Overalls almost exclusively. I got tired of pulling my pants up all day when doing any type of work around the property. I have 6 pairs of Bibs, and 1 go to town pair. I like them. The problem is carrying a pistol. It's not real easy. I just bought a S&W M&P 9 Shield. I just found out yesterday how nice it fits in my Bibs front pocket. I also have a belly band that works good too. I guess the key, or should I say the solution was to use a smaller weapon. In fact when the 9mm is in the bibs front pocket I hardly even notice it. It's nice to live where Bibs are normal, cuz they sure do work for me, and my Wife likes em.
Do you wear Bibs, or carry with Bibs? I know most people don't for the obvious reasons; like people will think your a hick, hillbilly, or they've seen the movie Deliverance (hahaha). Can't beat em.
For winter cold wx work I wear Carhart canvas duck. My favorite Bibs that I wear the most are the Liberty's, and my going to town brand are Pointers, which are made right close here in Bristol TN.

Got a small 380 I can slip in the pocket if I go somewhere.

That's country tactical RP. Lol

They work great at the re-loading bench as well. Plenty of pockets for notepads, rulers, tools and whatnot.

My Smith 340 .357 would work in the pocket. It's a scandium framed ultra lightweight snubby. Easy carry, but with full power .357 let's just say there is a reason her nickname is, "The Beast."

I carry a Sig 939 now. I know it would work in bibs. I have some but now wear Duluth trading fire hose flex pants. There pockets are very large. Can carry one in the front pocket without any problem. But they still fall down.

When I carry my 1911, I wear good jeans, a good gun belt, my Galco pancake,and my leather suspenders it works ok. Still pulling the pants up all the time. Ridiculous!
I just prefer to wear Bibs if I can. With a small pistol its working.

I saw a truckdriver the other day wearing bibs and some sort of a chest rig, but in his case it was more like a 'belly rig' as he was carrying a pretty 'heavy load'

Even with his 'physique' it looked fairly practical and comfortable. He was carrying a mid sized S&W SA but I don't remember which model.

Yes he is and I was unaware of this.

What specifically is the law, statute, etc. with commercial truck driving that makes this illegal?

Maybe with some state or local laws but not federally. If driving interstate and carrying concealed it might be difficult concerning reciprocity of different state CCP's

Not real sure of the details Ed. Just know from being a CDL holder, it is illegal.
Illegal to carry alcohol, open or not, as well.

Yeah, Bibs are most comfortable, which is why I wear them often. I have two pairs of Key Imperial Bibs. Like the variety of pockets, and usually keep them filled with something useful or needed for each day.

Two CCWs that worked for me were a BA SSIV with a shorter 3" 9mm barrel. A little heavy but the Bibs' straps kept all in place. Also used a BA sticky pocket holster for the derringer. Worked fine.

The other revolver was the minimum CCW in my book. It was an NAA 1-7/8" PUG in .22 WMR. Had a hand-made leather holster for it, and my wallet was almost heavier than the whole set up.

Always like the looks of Bibs designed in "Hickory Stripe." Might be the next pair.

I always figured it wouldn't work with Bibs, until I got a smaller pistol .
My least favorite Overalls that I own are the Pointers unfortunately. I usually keep a couple of pairs around. Made in USA, but there $95.00. There lighter weight material. Good for summer. The carpenter rule pocket isn't wide enough for my cell phone, and only 1 front pocket. The liberty's are like $34.00, side pocket has 2 sections, and the phone fits. 2 pockets up front. Heavier material also. The only down size is that they could be made anywhere, but not in the U.S.
Never tried Keys. Made in the USA!
My old friend down the road wears the Hickory.
Anyway that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I haven't worn overalls since I was a kid. I'll see what the wife thinks

Same here, Jake. I actually have a photo of me and my two brothers, which my folks took. All three of us under 10 years old and all dressed in bibs for a "formal" boys pic. That was my last time in Bibs until the last couple of years.

I didn't order mine via web, but got them at a Town & Country type farm store near my home. About exactly the same pricing. And definitely, I like USA-made products.
