Oh no! I hear the wife say this morning about the printer message that the ink pads had reached their usable life.
Always something with our Epson HP 410 printer so on to google I go.

Flip it over and remove the pad holder and you see many sectioned pads siting in there full of ink.
First thing take a picture of their positions...put on some plastic gloves and lay down layers of paper towels on an old towel.
Pull out each one and lay out how they are positioned on the paper towels and then take one at a time and rinse in warm water.

A mess but the ink is water soluble...then layout and let dry.

Looks like a lot of wasted ink comes out but the excess ink has to go somewhere!

Oh and you have to go online and download some program to reset the printer's counter. Now why couldn't they have built it with
a reset button???

Ink is one of the most expensive liquids on the planet! Time to invest in a color laserjet.

I've been buying generic ink for my Canon MX922 All-In-One inkjet printer at Amazon for a fraction of the cost of Canon's ink (12 pack for <$15). Highly recommend it.

Tried Costco refill ink in my HP and Canon printers. Picture color was way off. Daughter had a Canon printer and was also using Costco refill ink. She thought the color of pictures was fine until I showed her 2 pictures side by side, one printed with Costco ink and the other with Canon ink.

Anyway I don't do inkjet printers anymore[*]. My pictures are kept exclusively on my computer and backup drive. If someone wants a print of something, I send them the file and they can have it printed.

[*] I still use the Canon for it's Fax and Scan functions. Can't use the print function as the ink jet nozzles are plugged up with dried ink.
