Tom and I hiked to Lake Twenty-Two of Thursday. Its rained the night before and the trail was very muddy. Higher up we saw fresh snow and of course snow from last winter.

This was a short 7 mile hike but it was over rocks which makes it seem longer. Last weeks hike was 11 miles and it was easier.

I love nature and the rocks and trees.

Here is Tom walking on the far side of the lake. Notice the wood boardwalk over the wetlands.

The cloud cover broke some and this was our view for the day.

Thanks, nice photos and a great way to stay in shape. How many years have you been hiking?

I was ten when I first started venturing away from home on my own in the backwoods of Montana. Then after I got out of the Army I did a lot of overnight backpacking. Sometimes up to nine days. When I was about 30 I started mountaineering and have climbed a lot of the peaks in the state. I've climbed Mount Rainier 13 times. But now that I'm 66 I just do day hikes.
