I thought I'd start a thread where folks can list good products they have bought that are still made here in the good 'ol US of A.

I brought this up elsewhere. The only jeans I wear now. Fit great and last. I buy the taller cowboy cut.

Couple of years ago we bought a new washer and dryer. Didn't want all the electronic gizmo's. bought these and Mama Squatch says they are the best ever. http://www.speedqueen.com/

When the fridge went out we went looking again. I found out something shocking. Most of the major appliance makers still make good appliances here. Maytag, Kitchen-aid, Whirlpool. But you have to go to the local small guy to find them. The big boxes sell the imported stuff from the same companies. More profit margin. We've found the American stuff to be cheaper with a better warranty.

Lot's of RVs are still made here. But I'll mention 3 truck camper companies that I'm familiar with.
This is the company that made mine. They are welded aluminum frames and made for off roading. Four Wheel Camper.

So throw out what you got. Made in USA products.

I have one rule. If it is not made in the U.S.A I reconsider whether I really need it. I have often walked away empty handed because it was made in overseas. If I do have to buy something made overseas I avoid China. I would rather buy from any other country.

Has anyone found automobile tires that were made here?

Actually a lot of processed food does come from China. But they are more of canned goods stuff.

The Kellog's World Corporate Hdqrtrs is in Battle Creek, Michigan. Their history page states:

"More than 100 years ago, W.K. Kellogg created his first wonderful batch of Kellogg’s® Corn Flakes® in the United States. Today Kellogg proudly creates our wholesome foods in 18 countries and offers them in more than 180."

They highlighted 7 world-wide regions where those 18 producing countries are located. One is Asia.
So I'd guess you might have a box of Corn Flakes from China, RR. One never knows.

One of my favorite fruits are dates. For a long time I bought mainly Sunsweet brand because they were grown, packed, and shipped from CA, USA. Now the packaging states: "Product of USA, Tunisia & Algeria." That was interesting to see!

Oh yes, the caution on the package states that it might contain "an occasional pit or partial pit." I wonder which country those come from?!?

I know what you mean about the Jeans Squatch. I find myself having to tug them back up where they belong. I have pretty much quit wearing them because they just don't fit right.
I will have to order some from Buddy's. I like that they have them in 1 inch size increments. I find that a 33 waist fits me pretty well in most pants. When I can find them most pants are in 32 or 34.

We need some input from our friends from above the northern border on good Canada made products.

GM makes a lot of cars north of the border. I believe Honda does too. I used to have a Canadian made Civic.

When my job moved inside I carried a shoulder bag (soft briefcase) for a while. Even the expensive ones didn't hold up and were imported junk. I also found carrying a lot of weight on one shoulder wasn't helping my aging back. So I went looking and remembered a company that made canoe packs.

I bought one of their book bag/daypacks in waxed canvas. OMG this thing wears like iron and It's guaranteed for life! My wife bought one of their purses that is made on a shell bag design in bison leather. She gets more compliments with it than any Gucci bag would get. I have several of their items.

Need a sleeping bag or duffle.

The problem with a lot of the made in USA stuff these days is that it's handmade and qualifies as "Boutique" stuff. It'll last forever but isn't cheap. it's a commitment to buying stuff you need that you intend to keep for a long time to justify the price.

I've been buying as many US Made products that I reasonably can all through the years.

Every Vehicle (Cars, Trucks, Farm Tractors, Motorcycles, and even my Golf Cart), Major Appliances, Guns and much more are all US Made. How many remember the Bumper Sticker from way back in the 70's:

"Buy American Made Products. The Job You Save, May be Your Own".

In Canada;
Most of the world's french fries come from New Brunswick. Lots of MLB players swing maple wood bats made in Ontario. Sabian Cymbals are used by musicians world wide and made in Canada. And of course Molson Canadian beer...

As much as I like US Products, I have to say that I am not too dis-appointed when I see "Made in Canada". I know you all make some pretty good stuff up there.

Sorry about that. I really like the idea of their floating shotgun cases. This company is known for their traditional canoe packs. They understand what happens to gear in the north woods and on the water.

I'm not opposed to world trade at all. It's been going on since prehistoric times. I'm opposed to American businesses sending our jobs elsewhere for cheaper labor and then jacking the price up to stuff their own pockets. I'm opposed to doing business with oppressive regimes that use their citizens as semi slave labor. I haven't had much luck with American made cars and the treatment I've received when I've had problems with them. So in general I don't buy them. But country of origin really only matters when you buy new and I gave that up years ago with respect to cars.

Not trying to get political. Just like spending money on things from my place of origin. I like to eat local food as well. I don't buy much produce from the grocery. I tend to frequent local farm stands. Since we have retired we even put up some beans and corn last year. We intend to do more of that this year.

I haven't hunted in years. But my Henry's have kinda got me thinking about doing that again to stock the freezer. The deer on my property need thinning anyway!

We also have some very talented saddle and gear makers in both Canada and the US. Craftsmen.

I recently switched from the RWS superdome pellets (Germany) to Crossman Premier HPs as my primary, and I shoot a lot.

It says on the can, made in USA, and at this stage are just as accurate at 2/3 the cost of their German counterparts.

I was thinking the same way about my Crosman pellets. I have two RWS model 48's that are great air rifles. But I try to buy Crosman/Benjamin whenever I can. I like the Crosman pellets that come in the cardboard and foam box. They perform wonderfully.

I visited the Crosman factory. They don't give tours, but repaired my guns on the spot and then told me to go around front to the VERY impressive museum in the front.

My bagmaster is made in America.

Yup! Made in Canada is made in America, too. Thanks for reminding us of where and who we are.
