Noticed this at the top of my mom's handicap parking permit.
I guess if you are a handicapped person parked in a handicap spot you aren't allowed to leave the vehicle

There aren't too many behaviors more despicable than when a healthy person (using someone else's permit) takes a space needed by someone who actually is handicapped.
I have a permit, but never use it if I can find a parking space close enough that I know I can walk the distance without too much pain.

I have one but seldom use it because I only need it under certain conditions .... there is no doubt that some are misused

I agree. Often if I am waiting for my wife and a spot opens up close by I'll move to that. Some folks are crippled up a lot worse than we are. I can walk fine, just not very far.

Agree!! In the town where I live you find as many autos w/o placards parked in handicapped spaces as those with. I see people get hang a placard, take a handicapped space and then run into the store all the time. If you call the local pd they make it quite clear that they don't have time to care.
I have a placard but most times I don't use it because I can still walk.
