Looking forward to seeing this. The Ford GT40 was a dream come true.

Looking forward to this movie as well! Have been a Shelby fan all my life. Met Carroll Shelby in my youth and still have a signed copy of his book, " The Cobra Story ". He was a brilliant man who's legacy lives on.

No idea about the GT part. I think I recall the old GT being 40 inches tall.

The GT40 was introduced by Ford to use in and win long distance sports car races against Ferrari. They won every 24 hour Le Mans race from 1960 to 1965.Back then they were named, simply, Ford GT. ( Grand Touring ). That is how the name was born.
Carroll Shelby designed the GT40 head.

Just saw it yesterday on an infrequent day off! Wish'd I'd read this before I saw the movie and I would have watched for him. I thought it was an excellent movie and a strong contender for Best Pic. Damon did a great job as Carroll Shelby. A previous company of mine was involved in racing as a sponsor (Indy Car) and I had met CS a few times. There were a few times while watching the movie that I actually said to my wife "Man, that's Carroll Shelby alright." I really didn't know the Ken Miles story but came home and did some research and learned about him. Great contributor to American racing success and taken too soon. Even if you aren't a racing fan, its just a good darn movie! Stacks up well to 'Grand Prix' and 'Le Mans.' I have not seen 'Senna' but have heard it is also quite good.
