OMG....thanks RR. Saw them live in '69. Definitely makes me feel old.

He played with one of the best guitarist of all time in Eric Clapton. RIP Ginger

Absolutely!!!......IMO a huge loss.
Bad part is, as we get older, many of these Icons, as we know them....pass.

He stood rock and roll drumming on its head. Also, he was the first R&R drummer to use a double bass setup, if I'm not mistaken. His powerful sound came with a surprisingly light touch. I have fond memories of losing myself in Cream's music back in the dark ages.

Yes, sad to hear. R&R was a very different world, back then. Glad I was there to enjoy it.

60's and 70's rock music was a delicious journey. So much innovation.

Sad to hear. With Rick Ocasek and Eddie Money going recently it’s been a tough month for music.

What great fun back then getting a new album, reading all the cool liner notes while listening the first time. And a double album? Too cool...

Ya double albums. Crosby Stills and Nash 4 way Street. I wore that out several times in the tape player of my 69 Dodge Dart GT Convertible. I remember all the controversy that surrounded the Beatles White album. And of course Pink Floyd with The Wall.

I saw Cream when I was 15 or 16. Would have been around '68 or '69 at a small venue out east. Same venue, I saw Iron Butterfly, ( will never forget that drum solo ) followed by Vanilla Fudge! Geez, I'm old. Proud to have seen these bands though. Have the vinyl also.

As far as double albums go; Frampton Comes Alive!

I have all of my old albums, but they take up a lot of space, and have been a PITA to move around.
Probably have about 300. Some in better condition than others. Depends on how often they were played.

Getting back to Ginger Baker, anybody feel like the drummer for Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem might be Ginger reincarnate?
