Elk hunting is open in Alberta at this time.
One man on the Muzzle Loading Forum I've joined chronicled his 25th season hunting in the Peace River area.
He hunted with a long gun. Not a Henry or any other centerfire rifle. Rather, with his traditional percussion muzzleloader.

I and many other readers of this compelling, beautifully-penned chronicle felt like we walked every step of the hunt with this hunter. The chronicIe is filled with the moment-by-moment thoughts of each day spent in the wilderness. Many of the readers have strongly encouraged the hunter to pursue having his story published. I am in favor of that.

If you cannot do any hunting this season, this story just might fill that void. It was great to journey with him.
